Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, composed in Venice in 1720, was a seismic event. This was music designed to paint a picture, tell a story, and ignite the senses. This is the inspiration for Baroc: Chapter Two, a collection that moves beyond the static architectural plan and pulses with the emotion, movement, and light of Vivaldi’s timeless concerto.

We have curated four majestic stone colours - each a composition in itself - named collectively as the Volta Series, drawing on the dramatic zenith of Italian Baroque painting and sculpture.

Baroque is about drama, and our stones are the stage. They capture the fleeting, sensory moments of the year and fix them in an eternal plane of crystalline light.

Winter’s Absolute Zero: A Masterwork of Ice and Wind

No season in Vivaldi’s cycle is more bold, dramatic, and alive than Winter. It is a virtuosic display of musical extremes, deliberately planned to evoke the brutal, beautiful force of the season. Here, the stone must not just reflect light - it must hold the cold, capturing the very essence of frost and crystalline air.

Vivaldi, the master violinist, made his instrument conjure sonic images: rushing runs of notes for the icy wind, high-pitched leaps for stamping feet, and the rapid, shivering tremolo to represent chattering teeth.

Azzurro Volta: Sculptural Depth and Smoky Grace

Our Winter masterpiece is Azzurro Volta. With sculptural depth and smoky warmth, Azzurro Volta honours Bernini’s mastery of form - the genius of shaping marble into dramatic, flowing movement. This colour is a study in magnificent, chilling severity. It is a field of deep, glacial bluey grey, violently fractured by lines of pure bronze and whites, capturing the tension and energy of the Allegro non molto. The stone becomes movement, shadow shaped into grace, making you feel the exhilarating chill of the Baroque.

Autumn’s Golden Cadenza

Briefly, we recall Autumn’s golden glory - a moment of joyous celebration and final harvest. This season is represented by the warmth and richness of the finest Italian painting.

Oro Volta: Golden Warmth and Opulent Balance

Oro Volta reflects Carracci’s golden warmth and painterly richness. Flowing veins and radiant tones bring a sense of opulent balance and classical grandeur. This is the ultimate expression of the harvest: saturated with deep, intoxicating golds and ambers, it perfectly captures the Allegro of the harvest dance - a surface that sings with light and warmth.d enduring meaning.

Grigio Volta (Spring)

Inspired by Rubens’ The Fall of Phaeton, Grigio Volta captures the drama of the heavens in motion. Light blue tones and golden accents evoke celestial ceilings and the power of light in transformation, representing the vibrant, renewed energy of the spring skies.

Chiaro Volta (Summer)

Drawing from Artemisia Gentileschi’s mastery of chiaroscuro, Chiaro Volta balances light and shadow in bold harmony. Expressive, inky veining turns contrast into quiet drama, reflecting the brilliant, harsh light and sudden, dark storms of the summer season.
