The shimmer in our sparkle quartz comes from small mirror flecks embedded throughout the surface during manufacturing. These reflective particles sit within the quartz composite alongside the natural quartz crystals and polymer resins, creating a finish that glimmers under both natural and artificial light.
The effect is subtle - this isn't a glitter finish. It's a refined, understated shimmer that adds character without overwhelming your kitchen design. Under downlights and spotlights, the flecks catch and reflect light across the surface. In softer, natural light, they add a quiet depth that keeps the worktop looking interesting from every angle.
Sparkle quartz comes in a range of base colours, each creating a different mood:

It comes down to personal taste and kitchen style:
Choose sparkle if you want your worktops to have movement and visual interest, particularly if your kitchen has good lighting with downlights or under-cabinet LEDs that will bring out the shimmer.
Choose plain if you prefer a completely clean, uniform surface - or if your kitchen design relies on texture from other elements like veined marble effects, natural wood or patterned splashbacks.
Both options share identical performance characteristics. The mirror flecks don't affect durability, heat resistance or hygiene in any way - the difference is purely aesthetic.

Let the surface shine - pair with handleless, matt-finish cabinets in a solid colour so the worktop sparkle becomes a feature rather than competing with other patterns.
Maximise the effect - install under-cabinet LED strip lighting or recessed ceiling spots directly above the worktop to bring out the full shimmer.

Sparkle quartz requires exactly the same care as any other quartz surface in our range. The mirror flecks are embedded within the material, not sitting on top — so they won't wear away, dull or fall out over time.
Clean daily with warm water and a soft cloth. For stubborn marks, a non-abrasive cream cleaner works well. Avoid bleach-based cleaners and scouring pads, as these can dull the polished finish and reduce the sparkle effect. For our full care guide, see Minerox care and maintenance.
Use trivets for hot pans — sustained direct heat above 150°C can cause thermal shock, which isn't covered under warranty.
