Anyone can say they care about quality and safety. We’d rather you didn’t have to take our word for it — every claim on this page has been checked by an independent body outside Gemini Worktops.

New for 2026

The WFF Quality Mark — Audited Member

Launched in April 2026 by the Worktop Fabricators Federation with support from the Health and Safety Executive, the Quality Mark is a new industry-wide framework built to separate businesses that talk about quality from businesses that have proven it.

Gemini Worktops has achieved Audited Member status — the highest of the scheme’s three tiers, confirmed by an independent inspection from a British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) auditor on top of WFF’s own assessment.

Provisional Status — businesses actively improving processes, supported by WFF mentoring.

Approved Member — strong systems, proactive management, reliable performance metrics.

Audited Member — Gemini Worktops is here. Best-in-class operators, independently inspected by a BOHS auditor, permitted to display the official Quality Mark.

“Through the launch of the WFF Quality Mark, we are setting a clear benchmark for professionalism, safety, and operational excellence across the fabrication sector.”

Nigel Fletcher, Operations Officer, Worktop Fabricators Federation

individual processes across our factory floor — what we call The Gemini Method™, from slab handling and storage through to cutting, templating and final installation.

RCS

Continuous investment in dust control systems to manage respirable crystalline silica — the sector’s most serious workplace hazard.

Ongoing

This isn’t a one-off badge. WFF and BOHS confirmation is explicitly subject to continued adherence, not a certificate earned once and filed away.

A registered collective trademark

Made in Britain

Gemini Worktops holds the Made in Britain mark — awarded only to members who can evidence a genuine British supply chain, not just a British head office.

Our process runs from the initial quarrying of stone through to final installation, based at our factory in Middlesbrough and our showroom near York — every stage reflecting that same commitment to British craftsmanship.

Registered in Great Britain

Designed and manufactured within Great Britain

At least 80% of the value chain sits within Great Britain, excluding raw materials

A shared commitment to better standards

Worktop Fabricators Federation Member

Separate from the Quality Mark, our membership of the Worktop Fabricators Federation reflects a broader industry commitment to raising standards, promoting best practice and supporting safe, professional fabrication across the UK stone industry.

For Gemini Worktops, that shows up on the factory floor in the equipment we invest in — and for customers, in the confidence that every worktop is made responsibly, by people working safely.

Water-suppressed CNC cutting and polishing systems

Advanced dust extraction and ventilation solutions

Controlled workshop environments and structured occupational health monitoring

Ideal Home Awards 2026

Highly Commended — Best Kitchen Worktop

Our Stonelore collection was named Highly Commended in the Best Kitchen Worktop category at the Ideal Home Awards 2026 — one of the UK’s longest-running celebrations of great design, judged by Ideal Home’s editors and guest experts across more than 100 categories.

Only one winner and one highly commended are awarded per category, from the strongest field of entries the judges have seen yet — recognition we’re proud to have earned as a fourth-generation, family-run business, standing alongside the country’s leading design brands.

Questions

Awards & Accreditations FAQs

The questions we’re asked most often about what these marks mean, and why they should matter to you.

  • Almost any company can say it cares about quality and safety — it’s a much smaller list of companies willing to have that checked by an organisation with nothing to gain from being generous. Accreditations like the WFF Quality Mark, Made in Britain and independent material testing exist precisely because that gap between “says” and “proves” is hard to see from the outside.

They give you a way to compare fabricators on something other than a sales pitch: documented processes, independent audits and material test certificates you can ask to see.

  • The WFF Quality Mark is a three-tier framework launched in April 2026 by the Worktop Fabricators Federation, developed with input from the Health and Safety Executive. Gemini Worktops has achieved Audited Member status, the top tier — confirmed by an independent inspection from a British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) auditor, in addition to WFF’s own assessment.

  • WFF membership means we’re part of a federation of fabricators committed to raising standards across the UK stone industry. The Quality Mark is a separate, audited certification sitting on top of that membership — it verifies, tier by tier, that a member’s actual processes meet the standard, rather than simply signing up to the federation’s aims.

  • To hold the Made in Britain collective trademark, a business must be registered in Great Britain, design and manufacture its products within Great Britain, and prove that at least 80% of its value chain (excluding raw materials) sits within Great Britain. It’s an evidence-based mark, not a self-declared one.

  • Yes — practically. The processes behind Audited Member status (dust control, correctly rated lifting equipment, documented handling procedures, continuous review) are the same processes that determine how consistently your worktop is cut, templated and fitted. An audited factory floor is a more predictable factory floor.

  • Yes — our Stonelore collection was named Highly Commended in the Best Kitchen Worktop category at the Ideal Home Awards 2026. Ideal Home awards one winner and one highly commended per category, so it’s recognition from one of the UK’s most established home design titles, against the strongest field of entries the judges had seen.

  • Our surfaces are independently SGS-tested to EN standards for scratch, heat, stain and impact resistance, Greenguard Gold certified for low chemical emissions, and NSF certified as food-safe. We’re also members of the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman for independent dispute resolution.

  • You’re welcome to check every one of these independently — that’s rather the point. Our WFF membership listing is published on the Worktop Fabricators Federation directory, and our Made in Britain status is listed on the Made in Britain member register.
