Minerox Quartz is independently tested by SGS to EN 14617 for scratch, impact, stain and heat resistance. “Typical competitors” means mass-market quartz worktops sold through UK kitchen retailers and trade suppliers, where these features are not specified as standard. Every Minerox worktop from Gemini Worktops carries a 25-year material warranty and a 5-year installation guarantee, both provided directly by Gemini Worktops.

Why Gemini
The Gemini Difference
There’s no room for compromise in the kitchen, so we stopped making them. Minerox is our own quartz — we source it, fabricate it and fit it ourselves, so it reaches your kitchen without the middlemen or the hefty mark-ups, and it’s covered by a 25-year material warranty.
The most comprehensive after-sales support, for the highest performance surfaces
Every Minerox quartz worktop comes with a 25-year material warranty and a 5-year installation guarantee, both provided directly by Gemini Worktops rather than by a third-party supplier. Full terms are on our warranties page.

Minerox is our exclusive premium quartz surface - designed, made, and installed by Gemini Worktops. Unlike off-the-shelf quartz brands, every slab is produced to our own specification and finished in our UK workshop, so you get the consistency of engineered stone with the craft of a traditional stonemason.
Minerox is non-porous and highly resistant to heat, stains, impact and scratches. Every surface comes with a 25-year material warranty and a five-year installation guarantee - the first of its kind in the industry. To browse the full range of colours and finishes, explore our collection.

Minerox is our exclusive premium quartz surface, made from a blend of natural quartz minerals (typically 90–94%), aggregates including recycled materials, and clean resins that bond the slab. It's designed, manufactured and installed by Gemini Worktops in the UK — no middlemen, no third-party fabricators.
Our manufacturing process sources the purest quartz minerals directly from our partner quarry and combines them with top-quality aggregates (recycled wherever possible), specialist pigments for colour, and clean resins. Every Minerox slab is then CNC-cut and hand-finished in our UK workshop, creating a sustainable and long-lasting surface that's tested to EN 14617 durability standards for scratch, impact, stain and heat resistance.
-
Free Minerox samples are included when you request a quote - we'll send physical samples directly to your door so you can see the colour and finish in your own kitchen lighting, which makes a real difference with quartz. Order as many colours as you want to compare.
If you'd like to see full slabs rather than samples, both our Yorkshire showroom near York and our North East showroom in Middlesbrough have every Minerox colour on display.
-
Every Minerox worktop is made to order in our UK workshop. Once you confirm your order, our templating team visits your home with laser measuring equipment and captures your kitchen accurately. The digital template is sent to our factory, where your slab is CNC-cut and hand-finished to your chosen edge profile, sink cutouts, and any splashbacks, upstands or waterfall ends.
Installation follows roughly two weeks after templating. Our local installation teams work across UK mainland, so there's no third-party fabricator involved - the same company that designs, makes and fits your worktop stands behind the installation with a five-year installation guarantee.
-
Yes, we have two Minerox quartz showrooms. Our flagship showroom is nestled just outside York, within the scenic Rossmoor Park estate. Our second showroom is based at our HQ manufacturing facility in Middlesbrough.
Both have every Minerox colour on display as full slabs, plus example kitchen installations. Appointments are free and include a design consultation if you'd like one.
-
Our best-selling Minerox colours are currently Calacatta Goldlight (white with soft gold veining), Capri Cloud (white with classic Italian-style grey veins), and English White (warm cream with subtle grain). Marble-effect whites dominate, but Aspen Ice remains the go-to for anyone wanting the original Minerox sparkle finish.
For something more dramatic, Carrara Noir and Midnight Starburst are our top dark-tone Minerox choices, while Taurus Grey leads the grey range.

Yes, you can compare as many Minerox colour choices as you'd like. When you fill out our quote form, you can request quotes for multiple colours in one go. After your initial quote, you can also log into our customer portal to switch colour or thickness without starting over.
If you have further questions, our customer support team and worktop designers are here to help.

Our sales team strives to provide you with the best price possible, and therefore, the quote may take up to 48 hours to prepare. We understand that time is of the essence, and we aim to deliver your quote as soon as possible, while also ensuring its accuracy and competitiveness. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to provide you with the best possible service.
-
Once you place your Minerox order, our templating team will visit your home to take a precise template of your worktop using laser technology. The appointment typically takes 1–3 hours, during which our templater will measure your kitchen units, sinks, hobs and any other design details. We cover the entire UK mainland, but we do need you on-site to sign off on the template.
Once the laser template is complete, it's sent straight to our technical department and prepared for production. A member of our team will then contact you to confirm the details, flag any changes that may affect your original quotation, and agree the final price before production begins. From template to installation typically takes two weeks.
-
Because Minerox is manufactured in our UK facility rather than shipped from overseas, turnaround is quick - typically just two weeks from template to installation. This is significantly faster than imported quartz brands, which often have 4–8 week lead times from UK retailers.
Every Minerox worktop is made to order using state-of-the-art CNC technology and hand-finished by our stonemasons, so we won't compromise on quality to hit installation dates. During November and December our lead times can run slightly longer - if you want Minerox worktops installed before Christmas, we recommend booking your template date as early as possible.
-
Minerox worktops are extremely low-maintenance. Because the surface is non-porous, Minerox never needs sealing or waxing - simply wipe with a damp lint-free cloth and mild soap for day-to-day cleaning. Every installation includes a free Gemini care kit worth £60 to get you started.
For stubborn marks, a non-abrasive cleaner such as Bar Keepers Friend works well. Avoid bleach, abrasive scouring pads, and placing extremely hot pans directly on the surface - always use a trivet or heat mat for anything straight from the hob or oven. For more detail, see our full Minerox care and maintenance guide.
-
Minerox worktops are highly heat-resistant and withstand brief exposure to temperatures up to 150°C, but they are not completely heatproof — the resins that bind the quartz can be damaged by prolonged direct heat. Always use a trivet or heat mat for pans straight from the hob or oven.
Every Minerox slab is independently tested by SGS to EN 14617 durability standards, including heat-resistance testing. The 25-year material warranty covers manufacturing defects but doesn't cover heat damage, so the trivet rule genuinely matters.
