F Jones (Cleveland) Ltd t/a Gemini Worktops is a family-run business specialising in the manufacturing and installation of stone worktops. We are seeking a Lead Installer who will be responsible for fitting stone surfaces in our customer’s homes.
We currently looking to hire additional Machine Operators to support an increase in worktop production.
This role would suit those candidates who have some experience of operating production or process machinery, have experience of using CNC machinery, have a good understanding of health and safety when working and are looking for a permanent role in a growing Company.
Machine Operator - up to £25,500.80 plus Shift Allowance, plus overtime opportunities
In this carried role you'll be responsible for operating equipment needed to produce high quality stone worktops using a range of materials.
This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality, and prior experience in a production or machining environment. Full training will be provided on our specific equipment, with opportunities to develop multi-skilled capabilities across the production line.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC routers, bridge saws, edge polishers, and other stone fabrication machinery in accordance with safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
- Interpret and follow production job cards and digital work orders to ensure accurate execution of cutting, shaping, and finishing tasks.
- Conduct in-process and final quality checks on your own work and that of others, identifying and reporting defects or inconsistencies promptly.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments on machinery within defined parameters; escalate complex issues to the Line Manager.
- Carry out daily equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and cleaning tasks (e.g., TPM, start-of-day checks, housekeeping).
- Maintain accurate records of production output, quality checks, and machine usage using internal computer systems.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE and safe handling of stone materials and tools.
- Support continuous workflow and production targets by collaborating effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Basic proficiency in English and Maths (written and verbal) to interpret technical documents and job instructions.
- Familiarity with computer systems for logging production data and accessing work orders.
- Physical ability to handle stone materials and operate heavy machinery safely.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally within stone, woodworking, or metalworking industries.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machines, bridge saws, grinders, and hand tools.
- Understanding of factory production workflows and quality assurance processes.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards, codes, and best practices in industrial settings.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and task prioritization skills.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
